This project involved the installation of a thermal insulation system for key process areas within a water treatment facility in Somerset. Our team was tasked with insulating both the decant system and the filling loop, which are critical components in the treatment and handling of water on site.
Working within a live operational environment, careful planning and coordination were essential to ensure the works were completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to ongoing processes.
Specification
A robust and practical insulation system was installed to meet the demands of the water treatment environment:
- Insulation: 50mm thermal insulation, selected to provide effective heat retention and system efficiency
- Exterior Finish: Aluzinc cladding for durability and corrosion resistance
- Additional Features: Removable insulation jackets installed on key components to allow easy access for maintenance and servicing without compromising insulation performance
This combination ensures both protection and practicality in a demanding operational setting.
Installation & Accessibility
Due to the height and positioning of the systems, safe access was achieved using cherry pickers. This allowed our team to carry out the installation efficiently while maintaining full compliance with health and safety standards.
All work was completed with careful consideration of the live site environment, ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations.
