Project Overview

This project involved the installation of a high-performance insulation system for water storage tanks at a site in Doncaster. The works required a tailored approach to ensure each tank was insulated effectively while meeting the client’s specific aesthetic and operational requirements.

Our team worked closely with the client to deliver a solution that not only improved thermal performance but also aligned with site standards, including colour coding and finishing details. The project also included associated pipework insulation to ensure a complete and consistent system.

Specification

A high-quality insulation system was selected to meet both performance and aesthetic requirements:

• Insulation: Lamella wrap insulation at 50mm and 100mm thicknesses, secured with banding for a tight and reliable fit
• External Finish: Finished with shallow cone bottoms to ensure effective water run-off and a neat appearance
• Pipework Finish: Pipework insulated as specified and finished with stainless steel banding for durability
• Colour Finish: Various RAL colours applied in line with client specifications for site consistency

This specification ensures long-term thermal performance while maintaining a high standard of visual finish.

Installation & Accessibility

Due to the size and height of the storage tanks, safe access was achieved using Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and cherry pickers. This allowed our team to carry out the installation efficiently while maintaining strict health and safety standards.

All works were carefully planned and executed to ensure safe working at height and minimal disruption to site operations.
